Made In California

Ed Ruscha

The punchline of Made In California, Ruscha's 1971 screenprint, is that the ink is matched perfectly to the colour of freshly-squeezed orange juice. So, conceptually, the work is aligned with the earlier Tamarind Lithographs Anchovy and Mint. The print was issued to coincide with the exhibition Made In California at the Dickson Art Center, UCLA (April 18 - May 16, 1971).
